Barcelona coach Xavi spoke with president Joan Laporta after victory over Rayo Vallecano.

At the end of the match there was a first face-to-face meeting between Laporta and Xavi after the chaos of the last few days and the rumours about a possible sacking of the coach.

The two met in the Montjuc changing rooms and, according to the Spanish press, they spoke for about 10 minutes. The issue was not discussed, postponing any conversation until next week.

Xavi, in his media conference, then declared regarding his situation and the attitude of the fans: "The message is the same. If I had news to give you, I would give it to you, as always.

"I have a contract, the president congratulated me for the victory. I thank the fans who have always sung for me, they support me. I have always had their respect, but I don't like it when they boo or sing against someone from the club, it's unpleasant."
