Max Verstappen breaks silence on matching Ayrton Senna’s record of most consecutive pole positions at Emilia Romagna GP

Max Verstappen showcased an impressive comeback during the Emilia Romagna GP Qualifying. The Dutchman faced multiple issues during the practice sessions but turned around his fortunes around quickly. The 26-year-old has been performing at the pinnacle of his career currently. After securing a pole at the Emilia Romagna GP, the reigning world champion has matched Ayrton Senna ‘s consecutive pole position record.

Max Verstappen was visibly frustrated by the issues that he was facing in the RB20 on Friday. Hence, the team brought about changes to the chassis before the qualifying and turned the session around. After matching Ayrton Senna‘s record of eight consecutive pole positions, the Dutchman recalled the Formula 1 legend at the circuit where he died. The 26-year-old reckoned that it was a ‘great start’ to the year. Additionally, Verstappen mentioned that it was ‘special’ to match Senna’s record after the accident he faced at the Emilia Romagna GP.

Max Verstappen reportedly ‘flipped off’ a fan during the qualifying session

Max Verstappen was frustrated during the initial few sessions of the Emilia Romagna GP weekend. The 26-year-old couldn’t score many great lap times. Hence, the Dutchman spotted one fan showing him the middle finger after he went into the pits during the qualifying session. Verstappen took quick note of this and responded similarly to the fan.

According to De Telegraaf, the 26-year-old immediately returned the favor and flipped the fan off as well. Verstappen was spotted showing his middle finger to the fan who started the problem. Hence, this showcases the hard personality of the reigning world champion who doesn’t take anyone’s unwarranted disrespect.

Additionally, the 26-year-old had a great response to the fan after scoring the pole position. Hence, Verstappen will have a much smoother sailing performance at the Emilia Romagna GP. The Dutchman is all set to score yet another dominant victory around the Italian circuit. As things are, Red Bull will aim to maximize results and help Sergio Perez bring in some crucial points in the race.
