Watch: Caitlin Clark makes audience roar in 'Saturday Night Live' appearance

It turns out Iowa guard Caitlin Clark has some comedy chops.

Clark made an appearance on the latest episode of "Saturday Night Live" during the "Weekend Update" segment with co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che.

Earlier in the segment, Che joked about how Iowa would retire her jersey and replace it with an apron, which received jeers from the crowd. Although he later expressed admiration for Clark's talents, she didn't let it slide.

Clark proceeded to have Che read jokes she wrote about him, which made the audience roar. At the end of her bit, she gave him a pink apron with her autograph and a speech about entering the WNBA.

"Thanks, I'm sure it will be a big first step for me," Clark said. "But, it's just one step for the WNBA thanks to all the great players like Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, Cynthia Cooper, the great Dawn Staley and my basketball hero Maya Moore. These are the women who kicked down the door so I could walk inside. So, I want to thank them tonight for laying the foundation."

The WNBA Draft is on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Indiana Fever have the No. 1 overall pick and are expected to pick Clark — NCAA Division I's all-time leading scorer (3,951 points). It's worth noting that 36 of Indiana's 40 games will be nationally televised this season.

Clark's appearance on "SNL" adds to her stardom and cements her status as the future face of the league.
